GayRomLit 2012

GayRomLit was an intense experience for me. As an introvert, a relatively new author, and a first time attendee, I had no idea what to expect. I’d only met people as Kaje Harper the writer twice before, and never in a group that size. The four days went by fast, and instead of trying to tell you all about it, I’m going to pull out some highlights and memorable moments (but no pictures -sorry, I … Read more

Amazon and GayRomLit

The release of Home Work was made a little more stressful this week because of a problem with the Amazon listing. Amazon has apparently changed the way they apply the tags that are on a book when it’s uploaded. In the name of “simplifying”, they reduced the number of places a book could be initially listed, and went alphabetical. As a result, Home Work was linked under Erotica but not Gay & Lesbian on Amazon … Read more

Home Work released

Home Work (Life Lessons book 3) is now available from MLR Press. 😀 The release on Amazon depends on how backed up they are, but usually not longer than a couple of days. Other third party retailers should also have it soon. Thanks for everyone’s interest. I hope you enjoy it. ETA – it’s now out on Amazon

I have an interview up today on Reviews by Jessewave. I was very flattered to be featured there and you can check out another picture of my avatar/muse/walking eater-of-Scrabble-tiles. Home Work is coming out in a week. You can sign up to try to win a copy at Stumbling Over Chaos. I thought I’d also share a brief excerpt from the beginning of the story: . *** Home Work – Chapter 1 *** Detective Jared … Read more

Gift of the Goddess released in the Carved in Flesh anthology

Storm Moon Press has just released the anthology [book:Carved In Flesh|16002569] – one of the six stories in this collection is my 21K fantasy story Gift of the Goddess. People often say that the true perfection in the human form is in its imperfections. Scars are visceral reminders of a person’s past, a sign of an event that can never fade. Whether it was gained in combat, a traumatic experience, or part of a ritual … Read more

Because good things come in threes…

…and also because I am not the most organized person in the world, I am happy to realize announce that my other anthology story, Gift of the Goddess, will release in the Storm Moon Press anthology Carved in Flesh on Friday Sept 14th. Um, yeah, this Friday. Which means I’ll have three new stories out in the span of a month once Home Work releases. Hopefully that means something for everyone. Gift of the Goddess … Read more

Going for Gold – Tumbling Dreams released

My newest story, a 22K short story called Tumbling Dreams released tonight in the Olympics anthology Going For Gold from MLR press. You can find it at MLR Press books. ETA- a couple of errors when the book listing went up have now been fixed – I like how responsive MLR is, even at midnight. Here’s the blurb for my story: Gymnast Tyler Bannichek has a shot at his Olympic dreams. He’s fighting a recurring … Read more

Writing LGBTQ stories

Welcome to this Rainbow blog hop. The organizers asked each of us to answer the question: what does writing LGBTQ fiction mean to me? The first time I wrote a story in my head where two guys kissed, I think I was about fourteen. Being pretty naïve (and living in the days before the Internet) I had no idea where they would go from there, so I wrote a lot of fade-to-black. But the sex … Read more

Release date for Home Work

I finally got an official release date from MLR for the third Life Lessons book, Home Work. It will release on Oct. 5th. (MLR has started to release just two books a week to keep quality high, and I guess there are twelve books ahead of mine in the queue.) I’m sorry it’s not sooner, but excited to be able to make some plans.
