Tracefinder: Choices cover reveal

I’m finally in the home stretch of Tracefinder: Choices (book 3) with a planned release of July 30th. So I thought I’d share the cover and blurb with you.


An ex-cop and a psychic on the mend find their safe haven threatened by vandalism, arson, and the shadow of their dangerous past.

After overusing his Talent till he almost died, Brian wants nothing more than a quiet job on the farm, with Nick to come home to. He’s trying to start a new life, despite bad dreams he can’t shake, vandalism close to home, and his sister’s problematic baby on the way.

Nick gave up the police force and moved to North Carolina to be with Brian, and he doesn’t regret it. But he’s at loose ends, with no real work, the lurking specter of Brian’s brother Damon hanging around, and a worry in the pit of his stomach that Damon’s old enemies might still be after Brian. Nick’s keeping his eyes open and his gun loaded.

In search of equality…

Today I blogged on Love Bytes Reviews, celebrating this morning’s SCOTUS decision affirming workplace protections for LGBTQ Americans.  The court said, that when an employer fires an individual for being LGBT the employer “fires that person for traits or actions it would not have questioned in members of a different sex. Sex plays a necessary and undisguisable role in the decision, exactly what Title VII forbids. … the limits of the drafters’ imagination supply no reason to ignore the law’s demands. When the express terms of a statute give us one answer and extratextual considerations suggest another, it’s no contest. Only the written word is the law, and all persons are entitled to its benefit.”

In this decision, explicitly expressing that “all persons” includes our modern understanding of the spectrum of human sexuality and gender, the SCOTUS takes a huge step towards equality in America.

Definitely something to celebrate, at a time when we need that.

When Changes Going On released, I had a guest spot on Joyfully Jay, but the weight of my awesome words (joke) crashed the site a few hours later. (Or maybe it was the ghost of Sheriff Kensington, the first murder victim.) Now Joyfully Jay is back up and running with all the great reviews and posts revived – and my post is now up up about writing M/M/M polyamory in “Changes Going On.”

Changes Going On release day

Changes Going On – the sequel to Changes Coming Down – releases today. The books should be read in order, and I made book 1 – Changes Coming Down – just .99 at both Amazon and Smashwords, so you can meet Casey, Scott, and Will, as they begin to come out of the closet as a poly trio, while facing a murder mystery.

In Changes Going On – book 2 – these three men deal with a summer of media, mentorship, and murder, on their way to their HEA.

There’s a reason Scott Edison came out as gay and poly on national TV— now no one can try to push him back into the closet. But as his men and his hockey team deal with the fallout from fans and paparazzi, moving forward isn’t as easy as he’d hoped.

Casey Barlow left the Sheriff’s Department on his own terms, out and proud. But when the new sheriff is murdered— and Casey’s one of the few with a watertight alibi— he’s asked to investigate, and he can’t resist. He’s determined to solve the murder, and still take care of his men on the home front. Then one murder becomes two…

It’s a summer of risks and challenges, and working together is the only way they’ll make it through.

Free and sale books

Author Angel Martinez very kindly gave my story a slot today in her Friday Reading Days, where she reads a small excerpt from the first book in my Tracefinder series. She does a great job with these readings – check it out (and her other Friday reads too.)

Two books in this series are out now, and the third is in editing for a spring release. Tracefinder: Contact has a tentative HFN ending, with a more solid HFN for book 2, and HEA coming in book 3.

And if you like spec fic (fantasy and SciFi) with heart and humor, check out Angel’s books while you are at it. I particularly enjoy Gravitational Attraction  and her “Offbeat Crimes” urban fantasy series.
