Well it was a close call, because a formatting problem temporarily took all the italics out of the page proofs for Unexpected Demands. But thanks to the hard work of MLR’s formatting editor, Kris, it came back together. The book is now live on the MLR Press website here. And it will soon be out on Amazon, ARe and other vendors. I hope readers who liked Unacceptable Risk will enjoy this new look at my werewolves. If you are new to this series, I would advise you to start with the first book. I hope if you do, you will find yourself coming back for this one.
Now I have to head back to my WWII novella work in progress, since the deadline is coming fast. I’m struggling a bit with keeping it as plausible as possible on historical, Naval, and emotional fronts. But I’m fortunate to have several volunteers who will give me advice on parts of the puzzle. With their help I’ll make this new story as real as I can. It’s been great fun to write.
And it will keep me nicely distracted while I wait to find out what readers think of Aaron and his pack in Unexpected Demands.
Yay! π
I’ve been checking Amazon all day, but still nothing!!
Wow, I love your enthusiasm, thank you. There’s no predicting how fast a book appears on Amazon. The file has been sent to them, but they post it at their own speed. That has been anything from a few hours to several days with previous books. I do look forward to it going up too.
Bought and read the book (1st time). Quite interesting developments and I liked the direction you took with Aaron and his HEA. I like realism and not rainbows and sunshine in everything and every direction in the books I read. Thank you. Plausibility, and your excellent writing are a great reward after a pretty hard and tiring week! π (not to mention about the future re-reads).
Also liked the evolution of Simon’s and Paul’s relationship.
I had a few issues with the story, but nothing to detract me from enjoying it. All in all, a very good and quality sequel!
Out of curiosity, do you plan for more books in the series for this universe?
I actually have two more written (first drafts anyway) but not submitted. So hopefully those will follow. My next Life Lessons book is the next up though. I’m so glad you liked this one.
Bought my copy today! YAY, so excited to start reading this weekend!
C’mon Arron & Andy!
π
Congrats Kaje!!!
Just bought the first one in the series. “Unexpected Demands” is still not available here on Amazon, but I guess the time I read the first one, it should be. Which is amazing (I hate waiting…) π
Hi Kaje,
I prefer buying MLR books from ARe. Do you know when Unexpected Demands wil be available there? It’s almost been a month since release and they still don’t have it.
It does seem like this one is slow to show up there. I’ll ask my publisher if there is a reason for the delay. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Thank you for checking up. I was introduced to you by Unacceptable Risk (consequently I had to buy your whole back catalogue), so I’ve been looking forward to the sequel.
My publisher tells me that they are trying releasing a little more slowly to some secondary retailers, because author royalties are 25-40% less from those sites compared to direct from the publisher, due to the cut the retailers take. They want to see if it will up direct sales. The book should be on ARe soon though. – edited: it is up there now.
And I’m so glad you liked my wolves enough to go on to my other work. I hope you enjoy this one – it’s a bit different in the voice, but was fun to write.
