Brandon Shire, author of several acclaimed books including Afflicted, invited me to come visit his blog and talk about which of my books is my baby. You know, the story that as an author you secretly favor over the others, (although we don’t tell them that,) and had fun writing, and hope the cruel world is good to. That book.
So I did, and the post is on Brandon Shire’s website here.
I just wanted to send a quick note about how I truly loved ‘Into Deep Water.’ It made me smile to read that that story was your baby.
I just read this article recently and they reminded me so much of your Daniel and Jacob…

Thanks so much for posting that link. How lovely. I hope that soon marriage will be available to all those couples who have waited through a lifetime of love for their rights to be recognized.
And President Obama’s inaugural statement today contained a wonderful beacon of that hope: “Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.”
I’m glad you loved my story, and I hope that someday soon the ending of it will seem historical too.
Dear Kaje
Apologies for posting here, but I couldn’t find a ‘contact’ tab.
I was wondering how the latest Mac and Tony book is coming along, and whether you have a planned release date as yet? Also, do you plan on writing on-going books in this series (which is my absolute fave of all of your books).
Thanks and kind regards
Rita, London, UK.
No problem – I guess I’m still figuring out how much info to put where, while trying to control the spam I get. Asking here is fine.
Life Lessons #4 is at about 80,000 words right now, probably 3/4 done or so. I haven’t done much on it in the last 10 days, since I’m doing very fast rounds of edits on my stand-alone, Sole Support for Samhain. I hope to get back to LL4 next week and finish the first draft by mid-February. How long after that depends on a variety of factors, including how busy my publisher’s queue is.
At the moment I have no additional novels planned in the series… but I said that after Breaking Cover too, so who knows. I’ve only been writing for under 2 years, so there’s is lots of time for more books ahead. I want to do the sequel to Full Circle and a Young Adult novel, and maybe a sequel to The Rebuilding Year, plus I have the next Hidden Wolves book started, and waiting for me to get back to it. And a couple of solo books lurking in wait. Hopefully there will be things there for you to also enjoy. And since part of my philosophy seems to be that Happy Ever After is always a work in progress, there could be more Mac and Tony down the road. (Mac with teenagers…Hm.)
Thank you so much for letting me know. I read and re-read these novels and it’s hard trying to curb my impatience for the next! I will keep watching your posts.
Thanks and kind regards
